Sarah G is such a Turn-Off

geronimo & anderson

Entertainment TV host Ogie Diaz and the rest of Pinoy showbiz-landia attributes actor/celebrity Gerald Anderson’s surrender of pursuing actress/singer/superstar Sarah Geronimo to be his girlfriend to the latter’s wicked mother. Considering that Anderson is one of the most eligible bachelors of this country, only stupid ladies, I guess would say NO to him. Even devoted caring mothers would pray to the heavens that their daughter be the girlfriend of this gentleman.

Though Anderson’s acting skills can be compared to a guy suffering from indigestion, Gerald is famous, single, childless, young, handsome and filthy rich.  A lot of people would agree with me – and I apologize to the multitudes of Sarah fanatics – that he is even more beautiful than Sarah Geronimo.  He could therefore be considered “one rare find”.

I just hope Sarah Geronimo (who at 24 years old has yet to develop her inner backbone) would not end up marrying an old, adulterous, ugly and atrocious beer-bellied worthless bum in the future.  Her inability to stand up for what she wants and how she feels as well as her allowing to be controlled by people whom she actually feeds is just absurd.  She for me in this case is a whopping turn-off.

Hindi ka stap toy na pwedeng itago sa cabinet ng nanay mo neng?

Thanks Jessica

Let me be a thinking well-mannered adult this time around.  This is because Phillip Phillips who won the American Idol 2012 title seems to be a nice and humble gentleman.  Aside from his good looks, these characters I guess made America love him.

Let me be civil and let me give peace a chance.  I will not be bitter and I would not even dare attack anybody.  But I would have been gladder if Jessica Sanchez won American Idol season 11.  But somebody got to lose because only one person can win that show.  Jessica not winning the title will for sure is gonna be just fine and okay.  She has been phenomenal.  She’s amazing and for sure she’s gonna do crazy good things.

Let me say thank you to Jessica for letting me stick and watch the whole season of American Idol this year.  But let me also express my special gratitude to Jessica for bringing in some good and awesome news for the past weeks in the Philippines which is actually pretty hard to come by.  The Philippines has never been so affected by American Idol until now.  It was so strange that an American contest feels so at home and so local here in the Philippines.

Salamat bru!

The Pressures Faced Yet Outshined By Jessica Sanchez

If you are a contestant in a singing competition and you are to follow a stratospheric vocal delivery of a contender dubbed by the judges as the greatest live performance in the history of any singing contest, what would you do?

If you are the next contestant to perform in a singing competition and you heard for sure the rendition of your opponent who just sang which was truly amazing and one of the judges announced that he wanted to go home already like announcing to the whole world that the contest is already finished, what would you do?

If you are the person who will sing next in a singing competition and you heard the judges giving the most superlative accolades that a judge could say about a contestant and this contestant was the person who just sang before you, what would you do?

If you are the contestant who was told by the stage director that you should just stand don’t walk around the stage nor go near the live audience and do nothing but sing and you knew that the competitor before you received the most number of standing ovations bestowed by the judges during the elimination process of the contest, what would you do?

Could you still sing with all these chock-full of pressures at hand? This is what Jessica Sanchez was faced with during the top 4 elimination round of American Idol Season 11.  If I am in the shoes of Jessica Sanchez at that very moment, I for sure would just be compelled to step back, shut my mouth, pack my bags, go home and never sing a single song ever in my life.

Before Jessica Sanchez sang, I wondered what song was she gonna sing to topple down the performance of Joshua Ledet to prove to the judges and the viewing public that they were wrong.  I even thought to myself that I would totally understand with full compassion if the host Ryan Seacrest will announce that Jessica Sanchez has decided not to sing and just backed out from the contest.

But that is not what Jessica Sanchez did.  She actually sang one of the most difficult songs on the planet and simply gave her all!  After seeing and hearing Jessica Sanchez sang her second song entitled And I Am Telling You, I hated her.  I hated her because I wanted to smack her down, rip her throat open and put her vocal chords into my body and use them!

Jessica Sanchez seemed not shaken by the pressure for she was fabulous and was flawless.  I don’t know where she came from!  It’s absolutely insane!  She is so great! I don’t even think she’s from planet earth!

What she just did and overcame was simply a mark and testimony of a true IDOL!

Emma De Guzman: The Army of God

I just had one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life.  No I did not go to any posh place or meet interesting people in person or tasted the best cuisine in this planet.  I simply just finished watching the most extraordinary series of documentary videos available on YouTube.

The 11-part documentary is about the astonishing occurrences in the life of Emma De Guzman, an Overseas Filipino Worker who was chosen to be the army of God.  The videos were posted in August 2010 yet only seem a few has seen it.  Popular videos would ordinarily hit millions of views but these video series hardly hit the 5,000 views mark.

The video is about the personal encounters of Ms. Emma De Guzman with the Blessed Virgin Mary, with Lord Jesus Christ, with the Holy Saints and Angels.  Her divine encounters and the extraordinary physical manifestations – having facial glitters or escarchas, precious stones emerging out of her face, pieces of the Crown of Thorns popping out of her forehead, fresh stemmed roses emerging out of her chest, the stigmata she had, her writings of the scriptures written in the popular Greek language during the time of Jesus, angel’s feathers, etc. – gave me the largest goose bumps that my body can afford.

I was at a total awe when she recounted how the Blessed Virgin Mary taught her how to properly pray the Rosary, how she saw Jesus in a small chapel and how she gleefully described the Saints that she met.  I completely admire her for not questioning the Devine on the tasks given to her.

But what moved me most is how simple, ordinary and remained down to earth Ma’am Emma is as a person even after she has been chosen as an instrument of God as well as the uncomplicated principles and messages she relayed to those who would have the rare opportunity to watch and listen to her in the video.  I confess that I cried so hard while watching these 11-part videos.

I know that I am blessed to have accidentally bumped into this documentary.  I am so astonished that I have to write and share these… Watch it in YouTube and have your heart be open as well.  Simply type and search for “Emma de Guzman Documentary: The Apparition of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Love you Lord at mabuhay ka Mam Emma… : )

Idolizing an 83-Year-Old Dude

Watching the full recorded YouTube video of Day 2 of the impeachment trial of Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Renato Corona made me fully awake until the video ended. Battle of the brains and the not so brainy practitioners of the law raged on.

One thing is definite after watching the video I was made and transformed to become a fan and admirer of the chief lawyer for the defense, former Associate Supreme Court Justice Serafin Cuevas.  I was in awe on how mentally sharp 83-year-old Cuevas delivered his stand.  He was articulate, extemporaneous and was in full control of his thoughts and reasoning based on logic, provisions of the Constitution and the prevailing laws on due process.

Judging from the video and listening to Cuevas, I saw glimpse of how the Senator-Judges (especially Senator Lito Lapid) has gone amazed and astonished with the way Cuevas delivered his quick-witted manifestations. I myself was nuts about how Cuevas aired out and stressed his keen points and antithesis. Watching Serafin Cuevas perform him duty was an eye-opening experience, that when a person reached old age one should keep the pizzazz and sparkle in everything that he or she does.

I pray to God that I would be blessed with the same acumen when I reach that age.  Two things though, Atty. Cuevas badly needs a good stylist and a more decent haircut.

Aydol kita Manong…

A Unique Creation

This is my first post for the year 2012 and I want my post to convey positive thought.

We are created in this world with a purpose.  Whether we fulfill such purpose or not, let’s all be useful in our own little way and try to see and understand everyone’s own uniqueness.

I know that challenges will be ahead and just like the video I included in this post, I would try my best this year to turn good whatever I would be blessed or cursed with – may it be an angel’s wings or the horrendous horns of the devil.

Wishing all those people who come to have read this specific post a nice and satisfied life…

Sana’y pare-pareho tayong tubuan ng pakpak.

Cancelled Christmas Party to Help the Needy

“Very good!”, this was the exact reaction that my older sister uttered when I told her this afternoon that the Christmas Party of the Support Service Staff of the company that I am working for decided to cancel.  The party is supposed to be slated on Friday, December 23 but was cancelled because the budget supposed to cover all expenses will instead be donated to GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. to help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts of our brothers and sisters that were affected by tropical storm Sendong that badly hit Cagayan De Oro (CDO) and Iligan City in monstrous proportions.

The company I’m presently working with will instead hold a simple “merienda” snack to be served to all support service personnel and will nevertheless carry out raffle prizes in which items to be raffled off can’t be sent or are not needed in the above stated devastated cities.

Every year, Christmas Party of the Support Service Staff in our company is one of the most fun social activities that all employees of the company are excited about and would look forward to.  It is the time to bond with colleagues and share the spirit of fun this season.  But this year, the event even got more meaningful since the true spirit of giving and unselfishness during genuine crisis was truly exhibited.

For those who wish to help our brothers & sisters in CDO and Iligan City, you may deposit your donations to:

Karen & Denton: Engaged!

Karen & Denton's "Mini Me"

Joesel Javier, my Pinoy-Aussie friend who exclusively flew from Sydney to Manila to attend our dear friends Karen & Denton’s Engagement Party was a little ill passed up the task to say few words during the program.  Karen then passed on the mission to me which I deemed as an honored privilege.  Here’s the full text of what I said last night…

Royal Palm Hotel was the site where the beautiful bond between Karen & Denton started.  Karen as the Account Executive and Denton as one of the trainee-participants in one of the functions held in the hotel.  That was is the mid-90’s.

I remember Karen telling me when she finally answered yes to Denton.  A task was given to Denton before she finally said YES.  That is, she asked Denton, the quiet and reserved type, to sing few lines of a song over their phone conversation.  Eh in-love ang mokong, ayun! Kumanta ang Denton!

In the previous decade, their relationship no doubt flourished.  I can proudly say that I have been a good witness in the dynamics of these royalties’ relationship.  I said royalties because I personally tagged them as the crowned prince and princess of Armidale.

I am one of their usual companions when they would spend their holidays out of town or out of the country.  I have been with them in Macau, Hongkong, Singapore, twice in Sydney, in Melbourne, in Bohol, in Boracay and just a week ago in Bellarocca in Marinduque.  I’ve seen them dance, I’ve seen them kissed,  I’ve seen them laugh, I’ve seen them fight and recently in our Marinduque adventure I’ve seen them sang a song together!

When I would brag and present my travel photos to my mom, she once commented that I always travel with Karen & Denton.  She even asked if I was the “dakilang alalay” of these two.  I just answered her, “No Nanay, they are my alalays  na-in love lang sa isa’t isa”.

Anyway, to you Karen & Denton, a successful relationship is tested and requires falling in love many times always with the same person. A successful relationship is like a dance of two people, moving gracefully and intimately.  And I have been your “delicious” witness.

The dance of life with a Facebook status of “In A Relationship”, the boyfriend and girlfriend take turns in leading the dance.  My wish for you Karen & Denton is that you never stop dancing ‘till beyond.  Cheers to the both of them!!!

Mwah! Mwah! Tsup! Tsup!

If I were Gloria, If I were Noynoy

If I were Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA), I would not fly and go to another country to be in hiding.  I will face whatever charges will be filed against me.  If I was able to save the whole country from world financial crisis (as recognized by the IMF and World Bank) during my administration, I’m pretty sure I can also handle whatever charges will be filed against me.  This is because if I fly and would not come back, I don’t want history to judge me the cruelest verdict that not only was I corrupt but also gutless and cowardly.  I want history to remember me that during the time when almost all high-profile countries were suffering from economic crises, I was the great power who saved the country from economic collapse.

If I were President Benigno Aquino Jr. (Noynoy), I will not focus too much importance, valuable time and resources on the former president.  I will not make GMA my most convenient excuse for my continuing failure to meet the rising expectations of the masses who swallowed the promises of change.  I will not allow my presidency to create the image of always blaming and accusing the past administration for everything that goes wrong in the present.  So what if GMA leaves and doesn’t come back?  Actually, if she doesn’t come back, it will be the clearest form of guilt and I will have the focus to do what’s supposed to be done.  I will instead work on matters of much importance like improving our economy and uplifting the lives of the poor.

The problem is… I’m not Gloria neither Noynoy!

Itong dalawang ‘to, mga wala sa hulog.

The Eloquence & Loyalty of Elena Bautista-Horn

While awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on whether to allow or not to allow the former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to travel to seek treatment on her rare medical condition, I would like to commend Elena Bautista-Horn for doing a very good job.  Bautista-Horn in her interview with Karen Davila exhibited full loyalty towards her boss even though her boss is one of the most-hated human being of this country.  I myself don’t like the former president but with the clear and cloudless explanations of Bautista-Horn in the interview, I am now starting to be persuaded that the former president should be allowed to travel.

Bautista-Horn was impressive in defending her boss in the interview.   She has kept her eloquence and credibility.  Maybe it’s because she’s airing her points based on truth.  Former president definitely found a gold mine in the person of Elena Bautista-Horn.  Her being soft-spoken and debonair way of justifying their courses of action has made Justice Secretary Leila De Lima to look like an abusada (outrageously abusive).

Before watching the video interview, don’t be too emotional to the point of participating in a flash mob phenomenon but instead try to keep an open mind, then you would know what I am pointing at…

I know that this is going to be an unpopular post.  For sure, hating this specific entry will be off the charts! Similar to what I have written in the past – like my personal stand that Hubert Webb should be acquitted –   expect a lot of people would hate me again for posting an article like this. Or maybe it’s because I am just being objective, fair and impartial.

Basta napabilib ako sa talino at paninindigan ng bruhang ‘to.
