Flowers Feed The Soul

There is a rare inspiring feeling when gazing upon the features of a flower.  It is something that is not tangible and very difficult to explain.  Flowers are beautiful creations that link us to the miracles of nature.

I don’t now but for me there is always something magical about the world of flowers.  Flowers somehow fades or reduces the stresses and concerns of everyday life.  It can actually feed your soul and make you incredibly alive, aware and totally animated.

So if you have the rare opportunity to see and smell the flowers, do it.  Enjoy the experience before nature is engulfed in flames due to global warming and the upcoming end of days.

Out My Window This Morning Was The Bow Of God

A lot of folks – me included – get so excited seeing a rainbow in the sky.  I know that rainbow is just but a wonderful result of a climate condition and has nothing to do with luck.  But rainbows don’t appear often that is why seeing it invokes joyful hope and optimistic promise.

This is what I exactly felt when I woke up this morning, rose from my bed, looked out my window and saw this brilliant display of colors in the sky.

if you'd look closer it's actually a double rainbow

I would like to believe that seeing it is a sign from the cosmic universe that something wonderful – may it be divine providence or good fortune – is ahead.  For me, seeing a rainbow has always been a delightful, ethereal and inspiring experience.

Rizal’s Mona Lisa Smile

Today is Rizal Day.  Let me then post my personal favorite among the numerous photos of the ultimate Pinoy henyo and hero, Jose Rizal.

This is one unusual photo of Rizal which bears his Mona Lisa smile.  It is unlike the usual photo of Rizal which is mostly serious, tensed, unsmiling and oftentimes nondescript.  In this photo he looks happy and seems to have done something naughty.  I specially adore the hoity-toity vibe on his pretty face in this photo.  He looks cool and definitely hip!

what's on his mind...?

what’s on his mind…?

Another remarkable about this photo is that you can actually generate and formulate various thoughts and ideas (similar to the Mona Lisa) on what is on his mind while the shot is being carried out.  It’s a simple yet mysterious smile that can conceive millions of interpretations.

Photos of Malaysia

Today is Malaysia Day.  Let me commemorate this day by posting few and selected photos I shot while I was in Malaysia last week (and were enhanced using Instagram and Photo360 apps).  This is my second venture into the world of photography…

Colors of Abe’s Farm by a Newbie in Photography

Here is my first venture into the world of photography using only my iPhone as my tool as well as the wonders of photo apps, Instagram and Camera360.  As a newbie, I decided to start with landscape, still life and plants as my subject using only the natural light.  These photos were taken at Abe’s Farm located in Magalang, Pampanga.

You be the judge if I have the inkling and if this could be my possible fallback career…

But then again, Abe’s Farm is such a beautiful place any clear, sharp and on-focus shot you make still ends-up being very nice.

Chicken Ala Kiev in Café Adriatico

When I read by chance the popular blog of Chuvaness, I was envious.  She posted that Chicken Ala Kiev is back.  It has been revived and reintroduced in the menu of Café Adriatico.  After reading her post I promised to myself that the meal I will order in Café Adriatico the next time I would get my nourishment from there would be that infamous dish.

While reading the comments section in Chuvaness’ post, I was a bit infuriated by someone who commented that the dish looks amazing and asked what camera Chuvaness used in taking those photos in her entry.  I was annoyed because for me an excellent photo is not based on what equipment being used but because of the excellent eye the photographer or photo-taker possesses.

It’s like saying a chef prepares a delicious and excellent dish and the one who consumed it asked what pots and pans the chef uses.  No restaurant diner who enjoyed a superb meal in his right set of thinking will attribute the delicious taste of a dish based on the brand of knives or potholders that the cook uses.

Like photography, cooking is an art.  Kaya nga may Culinary Arts! Tange! (Translation: That is why there exists what you call Culinary Arts. Moron!)

Anyway, I indeed ordered the renowned dish today and devoured it as my early dinner meal.  While cutting through the breaded chicken, I was literally jumping off my seat because the wicked butter literally erupted from the crust when I punched a hole from it.  It was so enjoyable my taste buds were jumping for joy and the only thing left on my plate was a small piece of bone and the squeezed piece of lemon.

yummy chicken ala kiev of cafe adriatico

May it be taken in a good or disastrous photo Chicken Ala Kiev in Café Adriatico is definitely a heavenly yet sinful dish!  It is such an evil of a dish I need to confess my sins for two hours inside the gym this coming weekend.  Try it…
