Two Glances and a Pinch

Two glances and a pinch is what made my day today.  These very simple acts are the movements I made that totally made my day different from the rest of the days that has passed.  I know that such is a silly thought for such an old soul like me.  But today I was feeling like I’m in my first few weeks of high school, shivering and shuddering because of an absurd chance of mingling with a person of infatuation.

The Christmas Season has passed, a new year is on a roll and last year’s events and highlights are now officially a memory.  But today is some kind of a different highlight.  I received two short glances from the person I have been thinking, wishing and praying for and that I got to give a light pinch to that person’s arm before I walked away.

Walking away, I felt the electric current in my right hand.  The lucky hand that pinched the arm of my object of infatuation.  And as I walked away, I felt my left hand being so jealous of my right hand.  And while I walk away, I can feel my lips curving into a happy shape known by all as ‘smile’.

While the electricity in my right hand starts to wane as I walk away, I wanted to let everyone near me to hear me shouting, “Hello, all of you!  It’s a beautiful day! A perfect day! A day of possibility!”love photo

Ditumabo Falls After The Rain

Mountain trekkers know that waterfalls are at their scenic best when there has been rainfall.  That is absolutely what I saw and experienced in Aurora Province on the day I conquered the exhilarating green forest of barrio San Luis which nestles the beautiful Ditumabo Falls.

wow!

wow!

The first gait I made to accomplish this adventure, I simply let my cares drop like fallen trees.  I did not expect anything to gain with this specific venture.  I was merely trying to endure what needs to be endured during the whole time I was walking up the mountain.  Nevertheless, while pacing my initial strides, I was already feeling the freshness of the air kissing my cheeks, similar to how the cool streams of water kiss the thirsty lips of earth.

love handles galore! hahaha!

But as I further my trekking, I eventually felt the flowing of nature’s peace inside my being just like how sunshine flows into the leaves and branches of a tree. And as I further went up the trail, I was feeling the fresh energy of the whole forest.  I felt no pain, I felt no fatigue.  It was sheer delight and pleasantness.

breathtaking!

And when we reached our destination, the sight of the dream-like forest mist, the look of the inviting jade-colored pool and the magnificent appearance of the robust stream of the waterfall, resulted to a total feeling of intense joy and happiness!

Ditumabo Falls after the rain is indeed magical!

The Peanut Butter That Will Tantalize Your Tastebuds

nanay pacing, i was surprised that she was the one manning the store...

the lady on the label.  i was surprised that she was the one manning the store…

In some recent past, Philippine society got so crazed up by a food paste known as Speculoos Cookie Butter.  We were so wildly insane about it, it seem like a status symbol to own at least one jar.  As if possessing one jar is to have an insane bragging right.  Filipinos then would even post a photo of their cookie butter jar on their Facebook page!

Now that the hype has calmed down  and that Trader Joe’s in California (where this spread is sold) are no longer infested with Filipinos lining up to buy jars of it, there has yet to have another food paste that Pinoy society would have to be crazy about.

While waiting for the re-emergence of such phenomenon, let me introduce you to a locally-made food spread that will tantalize your tastebuds. It’s the Nanay Pacing’s Peanut Butter!

Buying two jars of this spread was the best purchase I made when I recently been to Baler in Aurora Province.  This peanut butter, my goodness, is evil!

one rare source of gastronomic happiness

warning! highly addictive…

glad to have discovered it in baler

glad to have discovered it in baler

In case you got hold of this creamy peanut butter and tried it for yourself, and you think you did not like it, then perhaps there must be no joy in your life and I hope things would get better soon.

There are few things in this world that deserves some great recognition, Nanay Pacing’s Peanut Butter is one of them!  And because of its magical taste which emanates the secretion of happy chemical compounds in the brain, I will then submit a formal nomination of Nanay Pacing to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for Chemistry and Physiology.

Happy Birthday to the Rain Singer

Only God and I knows why I am very happy today!!! My general happy feeling can be described by my chosen song of the day.  And I would like to greet a very Happy Birthday to the woman who sang this lovely song.

A shower of kisses to you and see in February here in Manila!

2015 is Year of the Rich

feeling rich!

feeling rich!

I have a problem with the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines or CBCP.  The religious group chose to radiate a humongous negative energy by declaring next year (2015) as the Year of the Poor.  They announced that this is in line with the upcoming visit of Pope Francis whose mission is to serve the poor with mercy and compassion.  Thus, based on CBCP’s declaration 2015 is not going to be my year.

Let me clarify that I do look forward to the visit of the Pope but I refuse to consider myself poor.  I am rich! With due diligence in believing in the “power of spoken words”, it has always been one of my mantras that “I am a money magnet”.  I have always wanted to emit positive vibes that is why calling myself poor would be preposterous.

Let me also clarify that my being a money magnet does not determine how rich I am.  For me wealth and prosperity is not only measured by how much money a person has in his bank account.  It is the abundance of life’s experiences, the asset of possessing a healthy body, the wealth of attaining true friends, the splendor of having a happy and beautiful family and the fortune of continuous peace of mind.

For me, 2015 will be the usual Year of the Rich.  My year, our year!

Health, Happiness & Power

A Facebook friend posted this on her timeline.  She indicated that the first three words you will see among those random letters inside the black box will be yours next year.  I was ecstatic and excited because the first three words I found were Health, Happiness and Power.

Now you start looking… (I will highly appreciate if you type in your first 3 words in the comments below)

health, happiness & power

It is indeed amazing!  This exercise is so awesome it creates an upbeat hope to the coming New Year.  Too bad though, it has been four hours already and still I have yet to locate the three ultimate words that I wish to find.  The words, “Extremely Delicious Body”.

But seriously, I’m definitely looking forward to a healthy, happy and powerful year ahead!

Hala! Kahit salitang “MASARAP” di ko makita!

Just Like Cake

mango tres leches of cafe adriatico

Can anyone be unhappy while eating cake?  Like instinct, we have all craved for cake in our happiest moments.  People actually serve cake when they’re happy. Why is it so? Because life is a cycle of pain and bad memories or perhaps like the bitter-sweetness of life, we try to make our joys even sweeter.

Like instinct also, we feel joy and the sweetness of life when precious people are around us.  Just like being served with cake.  So be still and open your eyes.  Look around you so you may realize that you are not actually sad and lonely.  Just like being surrounded with cake.  You’re surrounded by people who make you happy.  These perhaps are the same people that help you in realizing that life is a piece of cake.  You may not know, but maybe, you’re the most precious cake for somebody.

Here’s a slice of thought from a genius but defunct Pinoy band…

“There’s a fruitcake in everybody

There’s a fruitcake in everyone

There are b-sides to every story

If you decide to have some fun

Just take a bite, it’s alright

Taste the taste that sent all mothers giggling in sheer delight

Take a bite, it’s alright

A little lovin’ and some fruit to bake

Life is a piece of cake”
