I Lava LAVA

super lavet!

super lavet! (btw, images in this post are not mine)

My most previous post is about how I loved and enjoyed the movie Inside Out.  But I could not stop myself from writing about another reason why people should see this new Pixar animation.  It is because of the equally adorable short film which was featured prior to the main movie.  It’s entitled Lava.

I was totally clueless when the short film started.  I thought it was just one of the movie trailers or previews.  But as the film continues with its charming music and unique love story, I eventually found myself so engaged with this impressive short film.

The short is about a volcano all alone in the middle of the sea longing to meet another volcano he would love.  But since he’s stuck and could not move, all he could do until he grows old to the brink of extinction and nearly submerged under the sea was to sing a song about his dream of meeting a volcano he could love.  He however doesn’t know that deep beneath the sea is a female volcano who hears his singing every day.  This lady volcano knows that she is the one that the male volcano was longing for.

lady volcano

But when a colossal shaking of the earth occurred, the female volcano emerged above the sea level.  But she emerged facing the wrong way!  The male volcano was at her back!  The male volcano noticed the new, high and lovey lady volcano, but could no longer sing because his mouth is already submerged in water.  He could not also be seen by the lady volcano for she emerged above water facing the wrong way.  Until a great storm came and have the male volcano gone totally submerged underwater.

While underwater, the male volcano could hear the lady volcano singing his very song of hope.  He was happy and knew that the volcano he was longing for was already up above the water.  But the problem is, he is down submerged under water.

Until another mighty shaking and rumbling of the earth happened and the male volcano was pushed up above the water.  Now both of them were above water and was actually positioned side by side seeing each other!  Now both are singing a new song.  This time, it is about having their wish coming true and that is to grow old together as two loving volcanoes.

Here’s the adorable storyteller of a song…

It sent shivers down my spine when the male lava has grown old and when the female volcano emerged from under the sea facing the other way.  I was screaming in my mind “Goodness! Why are you facing the other way?”

But when both volcanoes eventually found each other, I was tearing already.  Good thing, me and my family chose to watch the 3-D version.  I was already wearing the 3-D glasses that’s why my relatives could not see me crying! Hahaha!

Aside from the adorable song, what I loved most about this short is the simplicity of the story.  Maybe I am already so complicated that is why seeing something simple is so great for me. For me, Lava is a beautiful and moving short film.  Those who won’t be moved by this film may literally need lots of super hot lava so as to melt their heart of stone.

Ang ganda! Parang gusto ko tuloy maging bulkan. Hahaha!

A Michael & Madonna Megamix

beat it, bitch i'm madonnaI’m not a fan of Michael Jackson but watching this remix/mashup music video makes me wish that he was still alive.   This is one superb work by Robin Skouteris.

I never wondered whether these songs would mix so well together.  This is genius!  Seeing the late Michael Jackson and the very much alive and bitching Madonna now could have been one great event that this planet would experience.

Enough with the wishful thinking!  Just beat it bitch and hit the play button!

Ay em labing dis!!!

Sneak Peak at Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour

Bow down bitches!!! Her Madgesty is coming soon!!!  Here are two teasers of Madonna’s upcoming Rebel Heart World Tour.

Are those pole-dancing nuns?

It’s still seven months to go before Madonna performs here in Manila, yet this early, I am already freakin’ excited.  I still can’t believe that I already got myself a ticket!

Ay kent weyt!

Smile by Dami Im

Here’s my 2015 summertime theme song…

You’re out of touch, in overtime
You’re running in, you’re running
Better left behind
You’ve dropped the ball to catch it with
And is it all there really is
You’re thinking but you’re thinking
‘Cause you know the best all things in life are free
And it’s all you need

You gotta live your life
You gotta treat you right
You gotta give into the great thing appetite
You gotta shake it up,
You gotta hold it down
You gotta do all the things that
Make you smile, make you smile
With the fun, but it is that really makes you happy
Yeah let’s say that
Let the world be a world that you fill with smile

You’re beautiful and evergreen
You’re dancing on high hopes and you got big dreams
So let them shine we’ll light it up

‘Cause now’s the time to find your voice
Wear your heart out on your sleeve
‘Cause you know the best all things in life are free
And it’s all you need

You gotta live your life
You gotta treat you right
You gotta give into the great thing appetite
You gotta shake it up,
You gotta hold it down
You gotta do all the things that
Make you smile, make you smile
With the fun, but it is that really makes you happy
Yeah let’s say that
Let the world be a world that you fill with smile

So live for a night we won’t forget
Live for the memories we haven’t made yet
Turn up the love fall into it
Live for the memories we haven’t made yet
This is our life no regrets

You gotta live your life
You gotta treat you right
You gotta give into the great thing appetite
You gotta shake it up,
You gotta hold it down
You gotta do all the things that
Make you smile, make you smile
With the fun, but it is that really makes you happy
Yeah let’s say that
Let the world be a world that you fill with smile

Treadmill, Mayonnaise, The Speed of Sexor Reprise and Olly Murs

57 cal

57 cal

Though the commencement of my having to go on a diet will still be on Monday (January 5), my return on going to the gym has already started last January 2.  And according to the treadmill digital meter my thirty minutes of alternate brisk-walking, jogging and speed-burst running lose me an amazing 214 calories.

Though 214 calories is only equivalent to four tablespoons of mayonnaise, I nevertheless was glad to have started the year in a somewhat correct corporeal fitness disposition.

Good thing I have with me the songs of Olly Murs and Tiga in my mobile music hub.  Their upbeat tracks made me so immersed with my exercising…

.

From among the four I identified in the title of this post, mayonnaise seem the only negative.  Unfortunately, it’s the cheapest and easily available among the four.

Real Giving This Christmas by Save the Children UK

According to Mahatma Gandhi, “The simplest act of kindness is by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer”.  That is why aside from trying to succeed in the 9-day Misa De Gallo challenge, let me encourage everyone to allot even a small portion of their Christmas blessings to charity.  I suppose you need not be told that even for a small amount, your donation will indeed go far and would help a lot of people.

I am not the best Catholic this Christmas Season so let me make up for my sins by helping others.  This Christmas, my chosen aid organization is Save the Children UK.  I know there is Save the Children Philippines but I chose the UK-based branch because I was so touched and was so moved by their YouTube advert for this Christmas season.  Entitled Real Giving This Christmas, the advert features Gerald a young boy from an impoverished town of my very own country.

What is very moving about Gerald’s story is his ability to give so much despite having so little.  His enthusing narrative along with a touching musical score of the video can indeed inspire and encourage people to share their blessings in whichever form it may be.

Get Sucked Into 2Cellos’ Melodic Vortex

About a month ago, I indicated in this blog that the cello is one of my most favorite musical instruments.  This post further proves why I love the sexy looking cello.

Only did I recently discovered that there is a magnificent duo who performs music covers of cool mainstream songs using the cello.  They are the Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, together known as 2Cellos.

Aside from playing magnificent music that ranges from smooth classical to mainstream pop to heavy acid metal, what is so extra cool about the 2Cellos is their stage presence.  Their playing the cello is so infectious and electrifying. Their intense facial expressions, head-banging and feet-stomping are all incredibly virtuosic.  Their playing is so passionate you could at times hear their deep breathing and actually see how the hair of their bows gets so torn. Moreover, it doesn’t hurt that both looks adorable.

Now you listen to these and get sucked into some melodic vortex!

Here’s a rare mash-up of classical tune mixed with heavy metal…

Here’s the eccentric yet enjoyable routine…

Here’s their latest, something stylish and sophisticated…
